[SONG REVIEW] Red Velvet - #Cookie Jar

My most favourite korean girl group, Red Velvet, again slayed the whole world with their new cute MV, #Cookie Jar!

Who doesn't think so? The costume they wore, the choreo, and little smile in there and there just make this MV completely worth-to-die-for.  I actually kinda confused as I rarely listen to Japanese song, but it was fine after two times hearing it. And yes, I have been playing this song lots of times since it released. So addictive!!

The song, in my opinion, is about girl who wants to make a boy loves her. Below is the translated lyrics I pasted from here

The lyrics, overall, is good and I think it doesn't have any ambiguos things (or any discrimination). It is quite fun and playful.

Its melody and rhythm are really tuneful and memorable (for me). As the intro of the song, it is super exciting, it felt like, something gonna come in a magic forest (lol what is this). After all, I really into its melody and rhythm. I might hear this kind of melody from somewhere but I don't care, as long as it is good then I love it!

And about the vocal.. well, it is Red Velvet guys. There is no comment with the vocals as their vocals are appealing (since debut). I absolutely love their dyanamic when they scream #Cookie Jar.. For the dance choreo, I personally think it is pretty cute. It doesn't make them jump from another to another, just little cute movements. I guess they focused on their vocals. As for me, It is super good if a song has its own unique movement, like Twice - TT with their fingers upside down or Sunmi - Gashina, you know that gun finger part. I think what makes the dance really popular is this unique movements and #Cookie Jar, has it! That hashtag movement was easy to follow and pretty cute tho so I think this choreo will be hottt! 🔥

The costume, background set, make up and hairstyle are also on point and I REALLY LOVE WHAT THEY DID TO WENDY OMG 😍💕

I can't say much more, maybe because I am just excited with their comeback after Bad Boy era so... yeah...

Conclusion:

This song has the powerful yet cute feelings attached. The intro was like a fairy tale and it goes perfectly with their MV's set. The costume is simple and cheerful, it emphasizes the cuteness of RV member as they do that little cute dance.
